Questioning Hell?

Welcome to my “Questioning Hell” page. This is an ongoing discussion about the development of various Christian doctrines concerning Hell.I hope that by undertaking a thorough study on the subject to gain a better understanding of God’s purpose concerning Final Judgment and how that may have been taken a bit out of context over the last couple of thousand years.

Is Hell real? Does it really last forever? What did Jesus have to say about Hell? Is there any hope of ever getting out for those who might find themselves in Hell, provided that Hell even exists in the first place? And if Hell does not turn out to be what some Churches have told us, then how did we ever get a doctrine of Hell? I am still in the process of my investigation into these questions and others concerning Hell and will continue adding articles to this collection until I have determined, to the best of my ability, what Hell really is as well as what it is not.

I began this series on 9/8 and anticipate at least another month or two until I am finished. Feel free to jump in the conversation anywhere along the way. Meaningful dialogue is one of the finest tools to Christian learning and development and I welcome anybodies contribution to the discussion.

  Thanks Craig. This series has definitely extended far beyond what I originally thought that it would. From the response on these posts it would appear that many others are also interested in how Hell came to be.
